Phillip Hon
Executive Director
Phillip Hon is a career educator from Stockton, CA, having been a former teacher and school administrator. He has taught across the elementary, middle school, and high school levels and served as both a Dean and a Vice Principal. Phillip received his Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from University of the Pacific and his Masters in Educational Leadership at Columbia University’s Teachers College. Phillip’s career has focused on advancing equity through educational opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom.

Raelin Tamargo is a Stockton Native and former Rio Calaveras otter and SECA timberwolf! Rae graduated from UC San Diego with a B.S. in Clinical Psychology and a minor in music. Rae has previously served as a City Year fellow with elementary school students in the Bay Area. Rae’s goals are to inspire and empower the next generation of young leaders to not only imagine a safer, kinder, more equitable world, but also advocate for one for themselves and future generations.

Jeni Bonilla has over two decades of dedicated service at Lincoln Unified Schools and has honed her expertise in fostering confidence and compassion within educational environments. Her mission is to empower each student through inclusive, dynamic experiences. In her roles with Lincoln, she’s focused on government, economics, and US history in upper-grades, as well as Kindergarten and 4th Grade and managing Title 1 and ESL programs. Her approach integrates environmental education, ensuring students not only understand their curriculum but also its real-world applications. This dedication to multidisciplinary teaching allows her to nurture well-rounded, self-aware citizens prepared to lead, and listen, in a diverse society.
Elisa Espinosa Escobar is a passionate educator with homegrown roots both in Stockton and having grown up in Mexico. After spending years as an English as a Second Language Teacher in Mexico, Elisa returned to Stockton completing Bachelors and Masters degrees from University of the Pacific, along with her Educational Specialist Credential. Elisa has always seen education as a pathway to success and is currently working on her Doctoral degree in UOP’s Transformational Action in Education program. Elisa is the mother of two children and passionate about ensuring all students receive the support they need to be successful in academics and in life.
Amanda brings a rich and diverse background in education to her role as a teacher. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Western Governors University. With eight years of experience homeschooling her own children and working extensively within the homeschool charter system, Amanda has developed a deep understanding of individualized, student-centered learning. She completed her student teaching with Lodi Unified and now serves as a valued substitute teacher within the district. Amanda believes that learning should be meaningful and rooted in real life, helping students make connections between the classroom and the world around them. Her hope is that, through these connections, students will not only grow in knowledge but also in confidence and self-understanding.
Victor Barrera is Stockton's 4-year elementary school teacher. Earned a bachelor's degree in business management and a Masters in Education from the University of Phoenix. Victor always knew he wanted to be a teacher to impact and change students' lives. Victor has worked for SUSD in special education and taught 6th grade. In addition, he has taught intensive intervention to students from 5th through 8th grade. He enjoys helping our youth find their voice and creates a safe space for students. He enjoys the beach and hiking in our national parks
Kristine Harbin was born and raised in Stockton. Kristine attended San Joaquin Delta College and Sonoma State where she earned her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. While teaching, she learned that she loved working with students who had behavioral and social-emotional needs which inspired her to pursue her masters in Educational
Counseling. Kristine has worked as a Teacher for Linden Unified, a Counselor for Lodi Unified, and worked part time as an organizer. Kristine continues to work in the nonprofit space and enjoys the outdoors and roller derby
Ofelia Hernandez is a Stockton Native with years of experience running community and international programs. Ofelia holds a Masters degree from Middlebury Institute, is a former Peace Corps Member, and has worked internationally and domestically running study abroad programs for over 3 years.
